Signatures Swap Gala 2009 Theme: Doors & Windows

18 participants will swap their creations.
Also, bring your in-progress or finished projects and ooh and aah us!

 

October14

Flea market & Sources Soirée

We will open the evening with a tools and supplies flea market where members can sell or swap tools & other related materials they do not want or need anymore.

It will be followed by a Sources Soirée, where members will share where they find things. Bring along pamphlets, catalogues, websites… anything that you really like and that others might be interested in.

November 18

Book Structure

Lynn Curry will demonstrate a non-adhesive single signature photo-album structure.

Attendees will make their own sample.

December 09

Holiday Sale & Binding Swap Gala

A Holiday Sale where our members can sell their completed works, followed by the final stage of our 2009 swap, an exhibition of 18 exceptional bindings!

Susan Pinard will demonstrate the Celtic Knot.

Attendees will make their own sample.

Mary McIntyre will demonstrate various ties, toggles and closures, some dating back to the 16th and 17th C.

Attendees will make their own sample.

Our 4th Annual Meeting: All are welcome to help define our program for 2010-2011.

Elections for executive positions.

Special Presentation

Larry Thompson and Holly Dean will talk about their recent work with Carleton University architecture students on a class project to design a "book arts centre".
