Ted Johnston has been creating prints from wood and lino blocks for the past decade. Much of his work has focused on urban architecture in Ottawa and foreign cities where he has traveled or been posted with the Canadian foreign service.

More recently, he has captured some of the atmosphere of the Canadian presence in Afghanistan and moved into more original sketches and representations. Largely self-taught through trial and error, his basic grounding was received at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. in 1969.

He exhibits regularly in Ottawa and has been featured in print and video reporting. 613-748-0346; e-mail Ted Johnston; www.arteastottawa.com

Ted is co-chairing the 2009 Orleans Studio Tour,
June 20-21.
