Maggie McGovern has deep roots in Ottawa and has been expressing her creativity in book and paper arts for over ten years. She is an active participant in several local studio tours and art shows, including the Red Trillium Studio Tour and the Maple Run Studio Tour, displaying her books, boxes and other paper arts using her own handmade multi-fibred papers, as well as other handmade and speciality papers. Maggie also teaches workshops in paper arts. She continues to explore new ways of using paper in the arts.
Maggie is a founding member of the CBBAG Ottawa Valley Chapter and has an M.A. from Carleton University.

Over the coming months, Maggie will continue her exploration of "rock-paper-scissors (and bonefolder!)", experimenting with new ways to combine handmade paper and gemstones using bookbinding and painterly techniques. Look for new works at the Fall shows. Check out the schedule on the Events page at www.mmcgovern.com.
